Conair Silicone Hot Rollers — Clip-Free Heat Sticks, 14-Piece Set
Product description
Quick heat and long-lasting results: This 14-piece hot-roller set includes flexible silicone-covered heat sticks that warm rapidly to deliver curls that hold. The heating elements are designed to distribute heat uniformly so curls set with less frizz and more shine.
What’s in the box: The kit contains 14 interlocking heat sticks — seven small and seven medium — featuring cool-touch rings and locking ends so you can secure hair without separate clips. The rollers accommodate about one inch of hair per stick and are intended for wrapping and locking to set curls.
Materials and heating: Each stick has a silicone outer layer to cushion and shield strands from direct heat, while the core uses tourmaline ceramic technology for steady, even warmth. For best results place the heating base on a level surface with the cover closed to conserve heat and allow the rollers to reach operating temperature.
How to use: Wait for the ready indicator before styling, then wrap a one-inch section of dry hair around a roller and close the interlocking end to hold it. Leave the rollers in longer for tighter ringlets or remove sooner for softer waves. Allow the rollers to cool in your hair for stronger set curls.
Care and tips: Wipe the unit clean with a soft cloth only when cool. For varied looks, use the small rollers for tighter curls and the medium rollers for looser spirals. The secure locking design eliminates the need for clips in most cases, though some users prefer to add clips for extra hold on very thick or heavy hair.
Pros
- Clip-free locking design for quick styling
- Two sizes allow versatile curl types
- Silicone exterior and tourmaline ceramic reduce frizz
Cons
- Some units take longer to reach full heat
- Can be hard to keep in place on heavy or long hair
- No on/off switch—power is controlled by plugging in
VerdictThese silicone hot sticks deliver salon-style curls without clips, offering two sizes for varied looks and a fast heat-up. They work especially well on finer hair, create lasting curls when left to cool, and protect strands with a silicone exterior and tourmaline ceramic heating core. Some users report longer warm-up times and fit/security issues on thicker hair.

Disappointing performance and durability
These didn’t heat enough for me, and they kept sliding down and losing shape in my hair. Removing them was difficult without pulling strands, which ruined the curl. The indicator stopped working after a few uses and the seller wouldn’t accept a late return.

Exactly like my old set
Identical to the ones I had two decades ago — simple and effective.

Can’t live without them
These are amazing — I use them all the time. They heat up and work perfectly on my fine hair!

New design pulls hair
The curl results are similar to older models, but the new little nubs on the sticks snag and pull hair when removing them. The previous smooth design was better and didn’t cause breakage.

Simple and effective for short hair
Likes these for their simplicity and the long-lasting curl they give. Best results on shorter lengths around a few inches.

Not suitable for UK outlets without proper conversion
Bought these for my granddaughter but they arrived with a US-style plug. An adapter didn’t make them work reliably, and I missed the return window so it ended up being an expensive mistake.

Good concept, tricky to secure; no power switch
Love the retro vibe and results, but they’re tough to keep tight in hair without clips. The little elastic loops help but you may still need aftermarket clips. Also there’s no power button—you plug in to turn on and unplug to power off.

Heat-up time not as marketed
The rollers look exactly like the pictures, but the heat-up is much slower than advertised. The instructions claim a longer prep time and in practice they took about 15 minutes for me. I contacted the seller about returning them but chose to keep them. They do produce shiny, lasting curls on my long hair if I let them cool in place for an extra half hour.

Great for fine, limp hair
I have very fine hair that rarely holds a curl. These heat sticks gave me the body I wanted without chemical treatments. They took about 10 minutes to fully warm; I leave the lid on while they heat. Tips stay cool enough to handle, and I used gloves for extra comfort. Would recommend.

Fast heating and easy to use
They warm quickly, attach without fuss, and give my hair nice curls. Good value overall.

Still the best for baby-fine hair
My very fine hair holds curl with these better than with other rollers. They take about 10–15 minutes to get fully hot, so keep the lid on while they warm. The looped ends stay cool but the shaft gets hot, so work swiftly when rolling.
