5" LCD Digital Soldering Microscope with C‑Clamp for PCB Repair
Product description
How to focus and change magnification: This unit does not have autofocus. Zooming is mostly digital (up to 1000X), while a sharp image is achieved by changing the distance between lens and subject. To focus, bend the gooseneck to set distance, then turn the silver focus knob slowly until the picture is crisp.
PC connection and viewing: The microscope can act as a USB webcam for an expanded view on desktop systems. Switch the device to "PC Camera" mode on its screen, then open the built-in Camera app on Windows or Photo Booth on macOS. No dedicated drivers are necessary — it appears as a standard webcam so common capture apps work immediately.
Storage requirements: The unit has only minimal internal buffer memory for testing. To save high-resolution photos or 1080p video you must use a Micro SD card (supports cards up to 32GB; card not supplied). Insert a formatted card before attempting extended recording or bulk image capture.
Display, mounting and materials: The microscope features a 5-inch IPS display that eases neck strain during longer sessions. It mounts to workbenches and tables via a C-clamp and sits on an adjustable metal/goose‑neck arm that lets you approach awkward angles and small targets. The housing is primarily plastic with metal fittings on the arm and clamp for stability.
Support and troubleshooting: If the unit shows a black screen, charging seems faulty, or a PC connection fails out of the box, contact the vendor's customer support rather than returning immediately. They can walk through checks and, if needed, arrange a replacement or repair. A USB-C charging port is provided for recharging the internal battery.
Pros
- Clear close-up imaging on a 5" IPS screen
- Plug-and-play webcam mode for PCs
- Flexible gooseneck with C-clamp for hands-free work
Cons
- Battery life is short between charges
- Manual focusing requires patience and distance adjustment
- Arm/clamp may need tightening or adjustment out of the box
VerdictA practical, affordable inspection microscope for PCB and small-item repair. The 5" IPS display and 1000X digital zoom give clear close-ups when positioned correctly. It doubles as a USB webcam for a larger computer view and records 1080p footage with an inserted Micro SD card. Expect tight manual focusing, a rechargeable battery with limited runtime, and an arm that may need minor adjustment — ov

Accidental Gardener 5/5
Better magnification than I thought
I used it when replacing an HDMI jack and it worked well. Use it standalone on the 5" screen or plug into a PC for a larger display and saving images. Mounts easily and is straightforward to move when needed.

Microscope works well, arm needs improvements
The imaging and screen are fine and video quality is good. The included arm is underwhelming — it can move under spring tension and requires fiddling to hold position.

Good image, average mount
Camera quality is clear and it performs as described. The mounting arm feels cheaper and knocks a point off. LEDs can glare on shiny boards, so dimming them often helps.

Great tool for electronics repair
I do a lot of repairs and this has been excellent. Simple to focus, easy to operate, and rechargeable. Highly recommended for frequent close-up inspection.

Clears up everything on the board
This one outperformed my previous microscope. You can clearly see traces and solder joints on PCBs. Very user-friendly and straightforward to figure out.

Better than I expected
I doubted its value at first given the price, but the image is surprisingly sharp. I planned to use an external monitor anyway — the built-in screen can be a bit small. It showed up as a webcam on my Fedora box and works fine with OBS. The arm came a bit tight but a quick adjustment fixed it; it holds position well now.

Should have bought this earlier
A lifesaver for my part-time watch repair. It revealed tiny cracks and defects that a loupe missed. No operational issues so far — highly recommend for anyone working on small items.

Very useful for micro soldering
Very helpful for micro-soldering tasks; the display shows adequate magnification. Battery lasts about half an hour and recharges quickly. The arm arrived very stiff and I had to loosen the screws a bit.

Solid value, minor battery issue
Image quality is clear and the unit is compact. Battery runtime is short. The vertical arm motion is pretty stiff. Easy to use and I appreciate the USB-C charging port — convenient for modern gear.

Top setup for the money
For a low cost this unit delivers. The arm and rotating clamp let you reach tight spots, and the camera/focus are good enough for advanced board work. LEDs and screen are useful. Main drawback: battery drains quickly and only lasts a few minutes unplugged.

Does the job — with limits
Happy with the performance for the price. The arm is light but holds steady. Focus is achieved by moving the head nearer or farther and fine-tuning the dial. "1000x" feels a bit optimistic for the tiniest SMT parts; it's fine for 0402s but struggled with very tiny 0201 components.

Versatile and portable
Handy unit with a built-in battery so you can use it almost anywhere. The screen quality and focus are impressive for the cost — can get very close to tiny details. Great bang for the buck.
