Adjustable Heavy-Duty Backdrop Stand Kit — 10ft x 8.5ft Support System
Product description
What's in the kit: 2 heavy metal bases, 2 support stands, 2 retractable crossbars, 2 wing nuts, 2 screws, 3 spring clamps, 1 wrench and 1 padded carrying case. Everything stores in the bag for transport.
Base and stand construction: The bases are iron plates sized about 30 cm x 30 cm and each base weighs roughly 4.5 kg. The uprights and crossbars are made from aluminum alloy for a balance of strength and lightness. Each crossbar telescopes and interlocks to form a single support up to 10 ft wide.
Sizes and load: Height adjusts from about 3 ft up to 8.5 ft. Each crossbar section extends to approximately 5 ft, with a minimum combined width near 5.2–5.3 ft and a maximum span of about 10 ft. The top rail is rated for modest loads (manufacturer lists around 26 lbs), making it suitable for fabrics, paper backdrops, garlands, string lights and similar décor.
Clamps and accessories: The kit includes three spring clamps (black, about 4.5 inches high with a maximum jaw opening near 2.4 inches) to grip muslin, canvas or paper backdrops. Fastening hardware—wing nuts and screws—plus a wrench are supplied to secure the crossbar join. The carry bag is nylon with a sturdy zipper for convenient storage.
Use cases: Hang curtains, balloons, flower panels, light strands or fabric scenes for weddings, parties, photo booths, markets and studio shoots. The flat base design reduces footprint compared with tripod feet, improving placement in tight spaces.
Please note: Decorative backdrops shown in imagery are not included with the stand kit.
Pros
- Flat iron bases provide low-profile stability
- Telescoping crossbars allow quick width adjustment
- Complete kit with clamps, hardware and carry bag
Cons
- Bases are heavy but may need extra weight for very windy setups
- Top rail best for light-to-medium loads only
- Not ideal for very heavy drapery without additional anchoring
VerdictA robust, transportable backdrop system that covers most event and photography needs: heavy flat metal bases and aluminum telescoping poles give good stability and easy height/width adjustment. Best for lightweight to medium-weight backdrops; not ideal for very heavy drapes without extra anchoring. Includes clamps and a nylon carry case for easy setup and storage.

Nice Look, Less Rigid
Attractive setup but doesn't feel as rock-solid as I prefer.

Not True Heavy-Duty
Doesn't match my idea of heavy duty. A bit flimsy for heavier backdrops.

Nearly Perfect
Works beautifully for my needs. I only wish the minimum width could go down to about 3 ft for a small sign.

Falls Over Easily
Tipped during filming. I bought it because the base weight was advertised as heavier. The bases are lighter than expected and with thin poles it collapsed with one backdrop.

Perfect for Market Booths
Great for vending. The flat bases sit well on tables and it packs up light. Much better than tripod-style supports I've used.
