Mammoth 15-Inch Cotton-Blend Rope Tug — Small Dog Chew & Tug Toy
Product description
Interactive play: This rope is shaped for tug-of-war, throwing and fetch, or to be left with your dog for independent chewing sessions. The design encourages exercise, bonding and basic dental abrasion as the fibers rub against teeth.
Materials and safety: Woven from premium North American cotton-poly yarns, the rope is finished with strong, hand-tied knots. The blend is non-toxic and built to be safe for supervised chewing and play.
Dental benefit: The braided fibers act like a gentle floss as a dog chews, helping to dislodge food and plaque from teeth and gums naturally during active play.
Size and fit: This listing is for the Small 15-inch, three-knot cotton-blend rope tug — intended for small dogs in the approximate 15–30 lb weight range. For larger or very aggressive chewers, choose a bigger, more heavy-duty rope variant.
Construction details: Small 15-Inch Cottonblend Color 3-Knot Rope Tug. Made from premium cotton-blend rope fibers tied into three secure knots. The ergonomic tug shape makes it easy to grip for both owner and pet, and its length is sized for comfortable two-player games with small breeds.
About the maker: Mammoth Pet Products has produced toys for dogs of many sizes since the mid-1990s, focusing on durable materials and simple, play-focused designs.
Pros
- Helps clean teeth while dogs chew and play
- Sturdy three-knot construction with quality cotton-poly yarn
- Sized for small dogs and interactive tug games
Cons
- Not suited for aggressive, heavy chewers
- Fibers will fray with heavy use
- Shorter length may put hands closer to a puppy's mouth
VerdictA straightforward, well-built rope toy for small breeds that enjoy tugging and chewing. The cotton-poly fibers help remove debris from teeth during play while sturdy knots hold up to regular use. Not meant for power chewers or much larger dogs, but ideal for teething pups and owners who want a washable, non-toxic play option.

Perfect for puppy tug
Bought this so my pup would tug instead of biting my hands. She’s super into it. It has frayed a bit (what do you expect from needle-sharp teeth?) but I trim loose threads and keep going. Knots stayed secure and I like that it can be washed. Color was a blue/white mix which was fine. I got it when she was about 10 lb and she’ll top out near 25 lb — this size is ideal for her.

My Doberman loves it; it's held up very well.

Highly recommended
My dogs carry this around and it fuels hours of tug-of-war. I’ve had it a month and it’s not falling apart — I’d buy another.

Simple, sturdy play toy
Bought for my grandson's dogs — a high-energy Boston and a chew-happy pup. Both play for hours and love tug of war. Well made and holds up to rough play.

Simple and tough
A basic toy that’s very popular here. Super sturdy for my medium, strong chewer and will outlast most squeaky toys.

Short-lived
My dog adored it but it only lasted about two weeks. It’s cheap enough to replace, but I expected a bit more longevity.

Sturdy and safe
A solid toy. My mini poodle puppy chews on it for long stretches. I feel rope toys last longer and are safer than many other chew options.

Great for sharp puppy teeth
Previous dogs loved rope bones and our Golden puppy does too. This one is durable for a puppy and helps teach him not to nip at skin. Time will tell how it holds up as he matures.

Good for teething pup
My puppy likes the texture—close to the rug she chews—so it distracts her. She hasn’t pulled the ends off to eat strings, but our vet warned us to watch. I do wish I’d bought a longer rope so my hands are farther from her mouth; she’s a Bernese pup expected to grow big, so a longer toy would be wiser for larger pups.

Exceptional quality for chewers
My 10-month German Shepherd/Pointer was in serious teething mode and destroying things. He prefers ropes and this one kept him occupied. Other ropes shredded fast; this held up longer and was better constructed, though no rope is indestructible for determined chewers.

Great toy for sharing
I have two husky-sized dogs. At first the older one hogged the rope, but within a week they learned to share. Very fun and durable; it's lasting longer than other toys and only just starting to fray.
