   Good value, unfortunate return

   Worked smoothly and locked/unlocked easily. I had to return it after my pup passed a month after purchase; otherwise I would have gifted it to someone else.

   Sturdy but watch beach use

   High quality and handles sudden dashes well. Avoid sandy areas—the sand gets inside and makes the tape stick. Elsewhere it performed really well and I’d buy again.

   Best retractable I’ve owned

   Smooth, solid construction and easy to lock or release. The extra extender for dogs that mouth the tape is a thoughtful bonus that saved me from replacing the whole unit.

   Great for an active pointer

   We walk 2+ miles daily. The 16 ft length lets our pointer explore while we keep a brisk pace. Heavier than some models, but lasted about two years and the thumb latch works well.

   Long service from a single leash

   Lasted 4.5 years with a reactive, pulling dog. The retracting mechanism finally failed, but it was solid and worth the time I got from it. Buying a replacement.

   Well made, feels good

   Well-built and working fine so far. Some find it slightly heavy, but I think the weight is just right and am satisfied with the feel.

   Great design, limited lifespan

   We have a 65 lb dog and loved the leash’s operation, but the ratchet started sticking after about nine months. We ordered another because the design is excellent despite the wear.

   Good control for a puppy

   Perfect size for a 15–20 lb pup. Comfortable handle and reliable lock. Note: grabbing the moving tape can lightly cut skin, so be careful. Lacks a built-in bag holder.

   Reliable while it lasts

   Bought this model twice. It served a 40 lb mixed dog well for about a year each time before the retraction weakened. Very comfortable to hold and the tape shows little wear, but expect the mechanism to slow after extended daily use.

    Solid build and useful extras

    Impressed on unboxing: sturdy black casing and a spare clip included. The cord and locking mechanism feel robust. I chose a larger size to fit gloved hands and avoid thin-line wrapping.

    Weak retraction

    The recoil is very weak; even for my small dog the tape won’t fully retract on its own. I do not recommend it.

    Flexible and tangle-free

    Ideal 5 m length for our puppy; it truly doesn’t tangle like other retractables. Would be nicer if offered in longer options like 8 or 10 m.
