NDakter 5-Digit Bicycle Chain Lock — Heavy-Duty Combination Security
Product description
What’s included: one NDakter combination chain lock with a five-digit resettable dial (default code 00000) and a protective fabric sleeve over the chain.
Locking mechanism and security: the cylinder is constructed from zinc alloy for corrosion resistance and improved tamper resistance. The combination head accepts a five-number code, offering 10,000 possible settings so you can choose a personal sequence without a physical key.
Chain construction: the chain core is made from 0.24-inch (≈6 mm) hardened alloy steel links that resist cutting and sawing better than thinner links. The chain is wrapped in a wear-resistant polypropylene fabric to prevent metal-on-paint contact and reduce noise and abrasion while securing your bike.
Available sizes and weight: this chain lock comes in multiple lengths — roughly 2.62 ft, 3.2 ft, 4.27 ft, 5 ft, and 6 ft — making it suitable for single-bike use, linking two or three bikes, or securing a bike to a fixed object. The mid-length model (about 3.2 ft) weighs approximately 1.45 lbs; longer versions weigh proportionally more.
Practical use cases: the chain is long enough to loop around racks, poles, fences, gates, trees, scooters, motorcycles, skateboards, grills, ladders and other outdoor gear. The keyless design eliminates lost-key hassles and the code is simple to change when needed.
Fit note: the lock head diameter measures about 1.25 in (≈3.2 cm). If your wheel spokes or axle openings are narrower than this, the lock won’t pass through the gap — instead wrap the chain around the frame or frame and fixed object.
Safety reminder: while the construction deters opportunistic thieves, no lock is completely theft-proof. Avoid leaving valuable bikes unattended for long periods in high-crime areas and combine with visible locking practices when possible.
Pros
- Five-digit resettable code for keyless convenience
- Hardened 0.24" alloy-steel chain with protective sleeve
- Available in several lengths to fit many uses
Cons
- Not impervious to serious cutting tools or prolonged attacks
- Lock head diameter may not pass through very tight wheel gaps
- Longer chains add noticeable weight to carry
VerdictA practical, no-key bike lock that balances portability and deterrence: the multi-foot chain and five-digit tumbler add meaningful resistance to casual theft attempts, the coated chain preserves your frame, and the resettable code makes it easy to use without carrying keys. Not invincible versus determined thieves or heavy tools, but solid for daily urban and suburban use.

Great pick for an e-scooter
Chose the red model for our son’s electric scooter. It feels quality-made, is easy to set up with a custom code, and works well for everyday locking. Recommended.

Easy for kids to handle
We got these for our kids’ bikes and scooters. The five-digit code is simple to set and there’s no key to lose. They’re sturdy, portable, and the kids can lock up by themselves — exactly what we wanted.

Solid deterrent — perfect as a gift
I bought this for a friend who was bringing his bike indoors every time he parked it. It’s not invincible, but the heavy alloy links and five-digit combo make it a real deterrent. The chain is flexible so it wraps around fixtures easily. My friend uses it daily and seems pleased.

Keeps my scooter secure
This has done a good job protecting my scooter so far. The chain feels substantial and the lock is easy to program. It’s long enough for most spots and light enough to carry in a backpack when needed.

Good value and straightforward
I like this lock. The extra digit gives more peace of mind than a 4-digit model, the chain feels robust, and the fabric sleeve stops scratches. It’s long enough for standard racks and avoids the hassle of keys.

Well-made but bulky
Bought this for my son’s bike in storage — it feels solid and gives confidence against tampering. The only downside is the bulk; it’s a bit heavy to carry daily, but ideal for storage or occasional use.

Worrying videos make me skeptical
I bought this for quick stops but after watching customer videos showing someone twisting a lock off in seconds, I hesitate to trust it. The idea was convenience, but those clips made me uneasy about leaving the bike even briefly.
