Portable Door Lock — Travel & Home Latch for Extra Privacy
Product description
Extra security and privacy — This portable door lock adds a secondary barrier so a closed door cannot be opened from the outside, even with a key. It’s intended to help when traveling, staying in short-term rentals, or living alone.
Quick, tool-free operation — The device installs in seconds without tools. Slip the metal plate into the strike slot on the door frame, close the door, then engage the handle groove over the stud on the metal plate. Removal is just as simple, making it usable in low light or emergency situations.
Robust construction — The core locking plate is made from strong stainless steel and is covered with a rugged ABS plastic shell to reduce wear and protect door finishes. The steel has been electroplated and polished for a smooth feel and to reduce sharp edges.
Universal fit features — The lock plate includes two differently sized holes (0.78 in / 2 cm and 1.2 in / 3 cm) so it can match a variety of strike openings. It is designed for inward-swing doors with a strike hole smaller than about 1.1 inches.
What’s in the box — Two portable door locks, a dust/storage pouch and an instruction manual are included. The unit measures approximately 4.3 x 1.26 x 0.4 inches and is lightweight and compact for travel. This is an upgraded patented model; customer support is available if you need assistance.

Very easy to use and carry. Worked well on hotel and ship doors and felt solid once engaged.

Works as expected
Does the job and makes me feel safer in a sketchy apartment.

Provides peace of mind
Sturdy and simple, with the two hole sizes as shown. I’d rate it higher but one color sometimes sticks and can be difficult to remove, which is frustrating.

Small and handy but bent
Convenient to travel with and straightforward to use. One of the two bent after several days on a heavy hotel door, so durability could be better for the cost. Still glad I had a spare; takes practice to line up while closing the door.

Great for rentals
Best buy for securing rooms in rental properties. No drilling required and it performs reliably.

Doesn’t fit every strike plate
I bought two sets and on my first trip they wouldn’t fit the strike plate at the hotel I stayed in. Useless for that stay but I’ll keep them in case they fit other doors later.

Takes a little practice
Initially awkward to hold the device in place while closing the door — it won’t stay in the opening without support. After slightly bending the prongs outward it stayed put and worked perfectly. Now I love it.

Makes me feel safer
Useful where there’s no built-in lock. Quality seems good and it’s affordable.

Not as pictured
Item didn’t match the picture — it had only one hole instead of two sizes and didn’t fit my door, so I sent it back.

Did not work on regular hotel doors
Traveled through several cities and tried this on three different hotels with standard card-access doors; none of them accepted this device. These are typical hotel bolts and this product wasn't compatible with those strikes.
