Portable Door Lock — Travel & Home Security Lock for Privacy
Product description
Extra security and privacy — This portable door lock creates an additional barrier so a door cannot be opened from the outside, even if someone has a key. It’s particularly useful when you’re on the road, staying in short-term rentals, or living alone and want a simple way to prevent unauthorized entry.
Quick, tool-free setup — Installation and removal take only seconds and require no tools. Slide the metal tongue into the strike plate on the door frame, shut the door, then engage the handle groove over the stud on the metal plate. The device stops the door from swinging inward when engaged, and can be used in low light or emergency situations.
Sturdy build — The lock is constructed from strong stainless steel with a rugged ABS plastic cover to protect door surfaces under pressure. Steel surfaces are finished with electroplating and polishing so they feel smooth to the touch and reduce the chance of scraping skin. The design is intended to provide long-lasting use under normal conditions.
Compatibility and kit contents — The package includes one portable extra door lock, a small dust/storage bag, and an instruction leaflet. Dimensions: 4.3 x 1.26 x 0.4 inches. It has two hole sizes: approximately 0.78 inch (2 cm) and 1.2 inch (3 cm). It is intended for inward-swinging doors where the strike hole is smaller than about 1.1 inches. Common uses include hotels, dorms, apartments, short-term rentals, bathrooms, bedrooms, and other private rooms. It can also help prevent pets or small children from opening doors. This is an upgraded, patented design; contact the seller if you need assistance.

Simple and effective
Very easy to use and carry. Worked on both a hotel room and a ship cabin door. Felt solid once it was in place and gave me peace of mind.

Good value but one stuck sometimes
Gave me a feeling of security and seems sturdy. Comes with two hole sizes as shown. The red one occasionally jams and can be hard to remove, which is frustrating.

Bent after several nights
Small and convenient for travel and worked well, but one of the pieces bent after about five days at a hotel. Heavy doors likely caused it. Still glad I had the spare from the two-pack.

Not compatible with every hotel strike plate
I had bought a pair earlier and the first time I tried them on a hotel stay they simply wouldn't seat in that property's strike plate. They were useless for that trip, and I couldn’t return them, so I’m keeping them in case they fit other doors.

Small learning curve, then reliable
At first I had trouble holding it in place while closing the door — it wouldn’t stay in the opening without support. It works great in the deadbolt hole though. After slightly bending the prongs outward it stayed put and closed snugly. Much better after that tweak.

Comfortable sense of security
Useful where a door has no lock — I used it while traveling and for a rental basement room. Quality seems solid and it’s affordable.

Product differed from photos
The listing showed two holes, but the unit I received had only one hole that didn’t fit my door. I returned it for that reason.

Did not fit several hotel doors I tried
Took this on a multi-city trip staying at different hotels and boutique places; none of the doors accepted it. All had standard key-card entry and regular strike plates, but the lock didn’t fit any of them, so it wasn’t usable for my stays.
