SUNLU ABS 1.75mm Filament — Durable Black Spools for FDM Printers
Product description
SUNLU ABS is a thermoplastic filament formulated for durable, functional prints. Each package contains two 1 kg spools of 1.75 mm ABS filament in black, ready for use on FDM machines that accept this diameter. The filament is produced under controlled conditions to achieve a diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm and is wound on spools with a larger inner diameter to simplify filament payout.
Material and handling: the filament is ABS resin, chosen for its toughness, impact resistance and higher heat tolerance compared with common PLA. It holds up under repeated use and resists surface wear, scratches and moderate deformation under load, making it suitable for enclosures, brackets and other mechanical parts.
Recommended print settings: nozzle temperature 250–260°C, heated bed 80–100°C, print speed commonly 40–60 mm/s. Typical retraction settings: around 5 mm retraction distance at roughly 50 mm/s retraction speed. These parameters are a starting point; some users increase nozzle temperature or dry the filament for optimal flow on large or fast prints.
Compatibility and quality control: designed to work with most FDM printers that accept 1.75 mm filament. SUNLU emphasizes production oversight and claims more than a decade of filament manufacturing experience; a dedicated support team is available for product or order inquiries.
Pros
- High impact and heat resistance for functional parts
- Tight diameter tolerance (±0.02 mm) for consistent extrusion
- Large spool hub for easier unwinding
Cons
- Requires heated bed and enclosure for minimal warping
- Some users may need to dry filament before printing
- Recent spool weight changes reported by customers
VerdictA workhorse ABS filament intended for functional parts and prototypes that demand mechanical strength and thermal resilience. Offered as two 1 kg spools, the material delivers consistent diameter control (±0.02 mm), good layer bonding and easy unwinding thanks to a roomy spool hub. Use a heated bed and recommended extrusion range for best dimensional stability. Backed by SUNLU’s manufacturing expe

Reliable and straightforward
Solid ABS filament and prints consistently. I'll reorder when my spools run low.

Quick delivery and works well
Product arrived fast and matched the description. Prints as expected.

Industrial-grade performance with stable feeding
This ABS set handled demanding functional prints with excellent thermal stability and impact strength. Diameter consistency was impressive across spools and feeding was smooth with no clogs. Layer adhesion held up well, producing rigid enclosures and structural brackets with only minor warp when printed in a heated chamber. Both spools arrived sealed with desiccant so they started dry. Strong value for heavy-use projects.

Dependable, the go-to ABS
Good value for standard ABS. No tangles or clogs so far and a deep black color. Running it on a Flashforge AD5M Pro at 260°C nozzle and 95°C bed with very fast profiles produced strong adhesion to a textured PEI sheet. Warping can be reduced by letting parts cool on the heated bed, otherwise printing is easy and predictable.

Consistent quality, good alternative
SUNLU ABS is one of my regular choices—consistent between spools and a reliable performer. Comparable to other reputable brands in my experience. Good to keep a few spools on hand.

Mixed spool behavior, solved by drying and higher temp
First spool printed flawlessly on my QIDI Q1 Pro with excellent detail. The second spool initially showed skipped extrusion and a bird’s nest after a short run. After drying and raising the nozzle to 260°C the blue spool printed perfectly as well. I’ve since ordered a few more colors to test.

Still prints well but spool weight cut is annoying
I no longer recommend it without noting the reduced spool fill—now about 900 g instead of 1 kg—which forces more frequent changes. The filament itself prints easily on my Bambu X1C using standard profiles with bed at 100–105°C and shows minimal warp. Functional and reliable, but the reduced quantity is a drawback.
