SAFAVIEH Braided Oval Area Rug 5x8 — Braided Multi, 1/4" Pile
Product description
Color & design: This oval braided rug centers on a rust-orange field surrounded by concentric rings in cream, black, sage green, gray, and tan. Actual tones may vary slightly from on-screen images and lighting in your space.
Construction & materials: Woven from durable polypropylene fibers, the rug has a low 1/4" pile that resists flattening and handles regular foot traffic. The braided construction gives it a textured, traditional appearance while remaining fully synthetic for easy upkeep.
Where to use: The versatile styling fits patios, bedrooms, kitchens, living rooms, offices, and entryways, pairing well with coastal, cottage, farmhouse, and relaxed casual interiors.
Care instructions: This rug is engineered to be machine washable on a gentle cycle; reshape and lay flat or hang to dry. Its synthetic fiber composition makes spot-cleaning and regular laundering straightforward for busy households.
Arrival notes & rug pad: Shipping may produce temporary creases—lay the rug flat for a few days or briefly reverse-roll to speed relaxation. Using a rug pad beneath will add cushioning and help keep the rug from shifting.
Brand background: SAFAVIEH brings over a century of rug-making experience, blending traditional design with modern manufacturing. Based in New York, the brand combines long-standing craftsmanship with practical, everyday home furnishings.

Beautiful addition
The rug looks stunning and completes the room. I’m hopeful it keeps its color and shape after washing. I love it.

Truly braided and heavy-duty
This has real weight and is genuinely braided. Nice thickness and it tolerates vacuuming without getting sucked under the nozzle like many thin rugs. Highly recommend.

Solid rug, matching sizes available
I appreciate that the collection offers many shapes and sizes in the same pattern so you can match rooms over time. It’s not wool, so it’s pricier than some synthetics, but it closely mimics the look of braided wool. Unlike other brands, there’s no annoying fishing-line filament sticking up. The square versions have a few seam bumps at the corners, but the oval and round pieces are seamless and smooth. Very sturdy, thicker than I expected, true to size and easy to vacuum.

Great color and fit
The colors are exactly what I wanted and the size is perfect. The weave is tight and it stays put on top of carpet. Vacuuming is easy and it feels like it will hold up. It was slightly misshapen from inspection, but that area is rarely seen so I’m fine with it. Good value for a braided look.

Exceeded expectations
Absolutely gorgeous and so soft. It fits our space perfectly. All three labs plus our grandson can lie on it at once—very comfortable. It’s thicker than I thought and I’m really happy with it.

Lovely rug, comfortable and odor-free
This contemporary Safavieh rug instantly lifts the living room. The colors and pattern add a tasteful decorative touch without overwhelming the space. The texture is pleasant underfoot—comfortable for bare feet—and it’s thick enough to feel substantial without blocking door movement. No chemical smell out of the package, which is a big plus. It keeps a neat appearance with regular vacuuming and doesn’t look cheap.
