Handwoven 3'x5' Kilim Area Rug — Reversible Wool & Jute Flatweave
Product description
Handcrafted by artisans in India, this kilim area rug is woven from a blend of 60% wool and 40% jute to balance strength and organic appeal. The rug arrives as a single 3 feet x 5 feet (36" x 60") flatweave piece, finished on both sides so you can flip it for a fresh look and extended wear.
The construction is a traditional flatweave, meaning the pile is low and the surface is textured rather than plush. That makes it ideal for layering over larger rugs, anchoring seating areas, or protecting high-traffic floors. Because it’s lightweight, it’s easy to move, vacuum, and reposition as needed.
Designed for versatility, this rug works indoors and in covered outdoor spaces like porches or patios. It’s suited for entryways, hallways, kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, and living rooms where a durable natural-fiber mat is desired. The reversible design provides two patterns or color orientations, extending the rug’s visual life.
Care is straightforward thanks to the flatweave profile—regular vacuuming and occasional airing help maintain appearance. The natural fibers offer an earthy, rustic aesthetic that pairs well with boho, farmhouse, coastal, or modern interiors. While the jute provides toughness and texture, the wool content adds subtle warmth and structure.
Bring in the look of handcrafted weaving with a practical, eco-conscious piece that emphasizes utility as much as style. The rug is ideal for anyone seeking a natural, hard-wearing floor covering with reversible styling options and artisan character.
Pros
- Durable natural-fiber blend (60% wool, 40% jute)
- Reversible flatweave gives two styling options
- Lightweight and suitable for high-traffic and covered outdoor areas
Cons
- Not a plush or soft pile — textured rather than cushy
- Natural jute can emit an initial odor that may need airing
- Handwoven finish can include small imperfections or loose edges
VerdictThis 3'x5' reversible kilim blends the durability of jute with wool accents to deliver a hard‑working, eco‑minded floor covering. It’s lightweight and flatwoven for easy layering and twice the styling options, well suited to busy zones and sheltered outdoor spaces. Expect a sturdy, textured surface rather than plush softness, and allow time for natural fibers to air out after delivery.

Stunning craftsmanship
This rug truly impressed me. Right away I could see the handwoven skill—texture and weave feel authentic. The hues are richer in person, balanced and warm rather than flashy. It changed the whole room, feels solid underfoot, and has that artisanal charm you don’t get with factory-made pieces. I’m thrilled with it.

Well built but a bit small
I like the look and construction of this rug. It turned out to be smaller than I needed for the space, though — great quality, just not the right size for my room.

Strong odor — couldn’t use it inside
It arrived with a heavy smell I couldn’t get rid of. Left it outside for days, but it still smelled bad, so I’ll probably return it. Disappointing because the design is exactly what I wanted.

Cute and sturdy for a hallway
Exactly the runner I wanted for my hallway. Very durable, lays flat, and not soft — which is perfect for preventing slips and tracking dirt. My cat approved too. The green checkered pattern I picked is beautiful.

Good idea, spotty execution
I wanted to love this rug but have mixed feelings. The jute texture is expected, yet a few edges look loose and a bit unraveled. It doesn’t feel soft at all despite claims of wool content. I’m trying it in the kitchen for now; it should hold up, but it doesn’t match the pristine listing photos.
