APEXUP Adjustable Weighted Training Vest — Up to 40 lb
Product description
Progressive load options: Offered in 20 lb, 30 lb, and 40 lb models, the vest uses removable 2.5 lb cast-iron blocks so you can dial weight up or down as your program advances. The individual blocks slide into pockets, letting one purchase serve multiple training levels and session types.
Rugged construction: Built from 1000D nylon with reinforced stitching across stress points, the vest is designed to tolerate repeated use during loaded runs, heavy calisthenics, and outdoor rucking. Cast-iron inserts are more durable than sand-filled alternatives and won’t leak, so the vest should keep performing set after set.
Secure, low-bounce fit: Thickly padded shoulder straps combined with an adjustable waist belt help keep the load snug against your torso to minimize shifting during movement. Weight is distributed across front and back for more balanced loading, reducing shoulder strain on longer walks or runs.
Breathability and visibility: The torso panel is designed to allow airflow during extended workouts and hikes. Reflective strips increase visibility for early-morning or evening sessions, and a removable logo patch offers a cleaner look when you want to keep branding minimal.
Versatile training tool: Use lighter setups for brisk walks and rucking, mid loads for bodyweight squats and pull-ups, and heavier configurations for sprints, push-ups and interval work. The vest is suitable for both outdoor training and indoor gym routines, giving each move extra resistance and calorie burn.
Pros
- Durable 1000D nylon with reinforced stitching
- Modular 2.5 lb cast-iron inserts for adjustable loading
- Padded straps and waist belt reduce bounce
Cons
- Fit may not conform to every body shape
- Neck opening can feel tight for some users
- Side adjustment range limited for certain torsos
VerdictA robust, no-frills weighted vest built to endure outdoor rucks and high-rep gym work. The cast-iron modular weights and heavy-duty nylon construction deliver long-term durability, while the padded shoulders and waist strap limit movement during exercise. Fit can be hit-or-miss for some body shapes, but for most users who want a straightforward, adjustable resistance tool, it’s a dependable option

Poor fit for my frame
Good heavy cast-iron inserts and decent buckle straps, but the fit was off. The neck was snug while the chest felt loose and it moved when running or doing push-ups. For reference, I’m 6'3", 185 lbs and found it surprisingly loose across the torso.

Flexible and comfortable
Love that I can add or remove weight quickly. The closures keep the inserts secure and the size fits me well. Feels good quality and comfortable during workouts.

Good product, could use velcro
Very comfortable and matches the description. It would be even better with Velcro panels on the sides for a tighter fit since the buckle can loosen with continuous movement. Otherwise good quality and highly recommended.

Solid, well-built vest
I bought this for a mandatory walk test for wildfire assignments and it did the job. It’s easy to change the weight and comfortable to wear. I ended up needing 45 lbs, not 40, which was my own issue, but the vest is sturdy and feels like it will last.

Functional but imperfect
Testing the 40 lb model. It works fine but is basic—no frills. The neck opening felt almost too small for my head while the side straps were overly long and needed to be tightened fully. It still bounces sometimes. I’d prefer a wrap-around Velcro closure for better universal fit; I might sew some on. Also noticed some loose stitching after limited use, so time will tell on durability.

Sturdy construction, takes effort to wear
The vest is well made and the 2.5 lb plates are simple to insert. Big side clips and an adjustable belt keep it in place, and there’s padding under the belt to prevent digging. I’m 6'2" and have to angle my head a bit to get it on, but once worn it’s comfortable. Started walking with just 20 lbs and was exhausted by the end of my usual route—this adds real challenge.

Powerful reminder of past weight
I bought this to experience carrying weight I’d lost years ago. It was heavier than I expected and a real eye-opener. I started with 10 lbs and use it on my incline treadmill walks; it definitely increases calorie burn. Chose it because it seemed higher quality and it hasn’t disappointed so far.
